"E-piphany"
"Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in a while, so that we can see Life with a clearer view again."
the thing is, they just flowed out before I even knew...
laughing and crying at the same time...
no matter how far, the closeness remains...
the closer we got, the more I knew...
...who means the world to me...who my best friend is... who I can always depend on... who I always think of...
As change happens in my life, one thing that stays ... is you.
the thing is, I'll have it no other way.

Articles-Videos-Blogs-oh my!
Hey everyone-
Just a quick update on what's been going on this last month.
I attended a Fitness Model Competition in Beverly Hills- the one where I entered last minute and didn't feel ready at all for! Luckily, I made myself go and I am so thankful for it. I reconnected with a few people I haven't seen in awhile and met some awesome new ones!
From this competition, I've been working on a few things I'd like to share with you!
I am now a Fitness and Team contributor on two awesome Fitness websites. Please check my articles/blogs out and leave comments!

2. www.myfittribe.com
www.myfittribe.com/blog/amber-nimedez
www.myfittribe.com/articles/20081112/how-treat-musculoskeletal-pain-right-way.html
I just shot a few video blogs with Jamo for My Fit Tribe and a few functional circuit workouts. I hosted a short segment with Ozzie Jacobs as well for the site. We had a blast and they should be up within the next few weeks.
Another project that should be posted within the next 10 days is something that I'm REALLY stoked about! I met Rob Riches at this competition and we spent a full day out on location taping 2 segments for LA Muscle.TV We shot all day long and the footage is basically an "up close and personal" segment on me...a day in the life of a fitness girl in LA :)
I will be creating/producing/hosting fintess lifeystyle shows in the near future- my profile should be up soon. yay!
GOOD STUFF!
Rob introduced me to his manager and she is taking me under her wings. She has already rocked my world... submitting me to jobs and most importantly... booking me! I'll be shooting a little commercial spot on Monday :) yay, I'll be able to pay rent. HAHA.
If you haven't stopped by ECOOKIE on Abbot Kinney yet, do so! She's got some essential Winter outfits that are must haves. We just finished the Holiday Lookbook and you should be getting your copy soon. We shot at Bodega in Santa Monica...ironically, my favorite wine spot in SaMo! Was a lot of fun, as always.
What else...Just got home from Seattle... had a great time :) Next Therapy Trip-
Dec. 14-16. Book your appointment with ME NOW! 800-995-8434.
Ok, I think that's it with the updates. Heading home for thanksgiving on the 26th-1st.... I love the holiday season! So much to be thankful about....
Until next time!

i am
not OK today.
reality set in and i am breathless
chest sunken in
and tears in my eyes.
heavy feet and a loss of words.
failure is it? time for change?
all of a sudden,
my dream is just a dream...
unavailable and out of reach.
My friend Erica says you have 3 days to feel sorry for yourself and then after that you get on with your life. this is day 1.

10/24-10/26- Fitness Model International LA Regional & Finals/Rogiani Exhibit, Wilshire Theatre- Bev Hills... not at all ready... feeling like a heffer, but too late to bail. Stay on track, otherwise you will feel humiliated on stage...just as I will feel this weekend. And it's all my fault! argg... at least I get to sport my new VIX bathing suit...
11/8- TAFA Ms. Fitness Universe, Ontario
11/15- INBA Ms. Fitness, Corona
11/16-11/19- Seattle Travel Trip. Schedule appointment with me: 800-995-8434. Starting Patch Fitness Classes in Seattle & possible workshop at new Lululemon @ Pacific Place and University Village. Stay tuned for more updates.
11/20- LA AUTO SHOW, preview night. Well, it's either that event or travel.
Rest of November.... in the yay area for thanksgivin... i love the holiday the season :)
Was hoping to retire my fitness routine and not do any comps the rest of this year, but the pressure is turned on high for me to compete these last few. Just not on my game right now. Trying to focus.
haven't realy kept up with this blog, but i intend to. check out pics from Ms. Fitness USA Finals and photoshoots- www.myspace.com/ambresa Worked hard this year for it and had a lot to say... but hoping you can see it all thru my pics... just read my eyes... and when im not looking at the camera, its because some thoughts are better left unsaid...

I wonder...

If Only You Were Here
By Audrey Kawasaki
A friend of mine introduced me to this artists work about a year ago and I just recently came across this piece ... so simple, yet purrty.
I thought I could write something romantic and meaningful about this picture, but all I can think about right now, right this second is.... WHERE IS THE UPS GUY???? I'm horrible. where is my patience???
hmmm...
if only you were here.. mr. ups man...
i could go to the gym and practice my routine
i could go get a thai massage
and sit in the sauna
if only you were here... mr. ups man...
i can stop feeling paranoid that i will miss your delivery
i can start my day and enjoy the sun
i can feel less antsy and leave my apt
if only you were here... mr. ups man...
please come soon, puh-lease!
a girls got things to do!
AHHHHHHH!

Get bigger, but lean out...
2 weeks left till Ms. Fitness USA. I am going for top 10 this year- last year I placed 16th. I'm a bit bummed this year because I am not up to where I'd like to be physique wise. Feedback has been the same all year. Granted I put on more muscle and gained more shape, the judges and sponsors all want more more more. As a fitness trainer, next to my average client, I look fit and muscular... next to a fitness girl... I look scrawny and frail! Every competition I have gone to this year, the judges tell me the same thing... Gain more muscle, at the same time lean out! I know this and have been working on it, I swear... patience is a virtue... and it will come one day :)
The great news is... I found my dress :) Finally! I love it love it love it and want to wear it EVERYWHERE hehe. It's Ema Savahl...just beautiful. See, another reason not to get huge... I don't want to look like a muscley man in a gorgeous dress!! Can't wait to wear it.
Speaking of getting to wear it... I'll have the chance to do just that in my next photoshoot on sunday! Haven't done a shoot in awhile and I'm very excited. I have an awesome hair stylist and an amazing MUA I'll be fortunate to work with. yay!
So vegas is finally set- rooms, dress, costume... bling bling! Thank goodness for hollywood. My mom is going and one of my best friends from the Lu is going... she is my personal hair sylist... yay for big hair this year! Can't wait to be back on the big stage. Man, I miss performing.
Oh, speaking of the Lululemon... I am sad to say... I will no longer be an official lulu girl. August 31st is my last day... no more merching, no more window displays! So sad, but I'm a rockin and a rollin with other gigs and I have no time... but have nothing but love for the company! I will miss the Lu's tremendously. I don't know how I would have handled this past year without them. Love you girls.
Well, there is no where else to go besides onward and upward! Can't wait to compete and prove to myself that I worked hard this year. I love competitions!! Bring it on!! Here's to BIGGER and better this year!!!

astrology.
I was looking at an old notebook today and I came across my notes from my vedic reading back on January 30, 2008. My friend Steph gave that to me as a Christmas present and it turned out to be very interesting. I'm glad I did it and I just want to jot down some things because a lot of it seems to be running parallel with what I am going thru or have gone thru. Btw, vedic readings are based on your birthday (including year), what time you were born and where you born. This lady knew nothing of me and the session took place over the phone.
Overview of myself:
-people oriented, genuine, curious, versatile, trend setter, compassion for people, urge to express myself, sensitive.
-tend to draw to people who are doing the same thing
-need stimulus, change, playful, adventurous, travel
My joy and love is variety in life. Whoever I am with needs to be the same way.
Career:
-competitive, business, dedication, truthful
-partnerships will be strong in business especially in 2013/2014 (potential for wealth)
-bold, daring. pretty hard on self, sometimes struggle with self doubt
-demanding childhood directly translates to money making
Next 2 years = testing ground
-crisp/sharp mental analysis, accuracy- able to see with great clarity.
-Enormously creative, if not, down on self.
-task master
-Pretty tough finances right now, high expenses
Dec 2007-Jan 2011: Travel abroad possibly relating to fitness. lots of potential.
April 2008 - Jan/Feb 09: Foreign country = unfolds in a surprising way = may rock the boat, but is a good opportunity = unique experience = also has to do with performance and making money.
September 08/Oct. 08- Transition!
Relationships/partnerships. Radical shift. Both intimate and business.
Strong female long lasting friends. Learning how to let go of control. Creating a long lasting vehicle for self expression.
And that's all she wrote.
Why post this? Well, I guess, just cause. Plus, close friends, I ask you... don't you think its kind of bizarre... Hehe. Kinda cool, I guess.

30 Day Challenge by Ms. Erica Rhodes
Erica Rhodes has become one of my best friends here in LA. She is an incredibly gifted actress- an extremely funny funny gal!! Not only is she a great friend and a talented actress, but she is someone who can really inspire you. She has discipline like no other and once she puts her mind to it, she really sticks to it. That's my kind of friend! Determination, discipline and action... results will follow. That is how she flys... and I love to fly with her. (literally, did I mention she is also my fellow flying trapeze friend) ha!
I'd like to share an article that Erica recently wrote for a Lululemon newsletter called Lululime :) She constantly challenges herself and the article focuses on a 30 Day Challenge- taking 1 class a day for 30 days. Not only do I find this hysterical, but also motivational... there may be some inside jokes in there, but, you get the point...
30 Reasons why YOU should do the 30 day class challenge:
1) You'll look HOT. Hot like Jessica Alba HOT. Hot like Paris Hilton
HOT. Hot like...like...yes, like Kendrah McKay HOT. It's doesn't get
hotter than that now does it?
2) You'll be able to fit into your old Diesel jeans you bought when
your parents were still paying your rent. The jeans you popped the
button off of with those ten pounds you gained from dipping chocolate
chips into peanut butter every night. Amen.
3) You might get a six pack, or a four pack. Or at least it will feel
a bit firmer around your midsection.
And you'll feel the right to have your belly button pierced. Even if
you still have the same ring in from when you were sixteen.
4) You'll see your sociopath ex boyfriend. And he'll proudly tell you,
"Yeah...I spin twice a week" his arrogant chin raised in the air. And
you'll laugh at him. "Twice a week? Pathetic."
5) You'll sleep like a baby. Zzzzzzzz...
6) You'll save money, because you won't have any time to spend it.
7) Jay Co (at Power Yoga) will tell you, "Your downward dog is fine."
And you'll say, "You're fine."
8) You won't feel guilty taking the Relaxation Class at Exhale. And
you might even fall asleep. Zzzzzzzz...
9) You'll eat less, because you won't have any time to eat.
10) It's a great way to get out of work on time. "Sarita...I simply
HAVE to leave right at 2:30 to make spinning. I'm doing the 30 day
challange after all!"
11) You'll be able to rock a rockin' new hairdo. Just like..Mayra.
12) You might even be able to try on the ugliest thing in the store
(ahem,...Denim? Seriously?) and look...OK.
13) You won't feel too guilty when you go on vacation and find
yourself eating bagels, cheese, ice cream (every day, sometimes
twice), chips, pizza, need I go on? (Amber faints)
14) You'll look at Sarah Jessica Parker and think, "Hell I can look like that."
15) You'll decide you want to run a marathon now. Why stop here?
16) Your old friend you haven't seen since you were 18 will say, "You
look EXACTLY the same."
17) You'll be able to brag to your fellow lulus...EVERY day. "I'm
doing the 30 day challenge. Na na na bu bu."
18) Your Mom will say, "Your arms are so firm!"
19) You'll get to talk about lulu clothing a LOT.
20) It will become habit. YOu'll have to get your daily 'fix.'
21) You'll go on a date, and the guy will keep saying, "You must be in
really good shape. Man. You must be in really good shape."
22) The teachers at YAS will know what your favorite song is, and
they'll play it just for you. Well, at least Dennis will.
23) When Becky catches you at singles spinning class, you have a great
excuse. "It was the ONLY class left. And I'm doing the 30 day
challenge. I HAD to take it."
24) You'll wow the socks off Alba by doing Circuit Works and then CSR in a row.
25) Even if you don't win the staff challenge, you'll still have
something to brag about.
26) Michelle will ask you to write in the lululime about the 30 day
challenge. You'll say," If you insist."
27) You'll have tons of energy...like Kendrah on caffeine.
28) You'll get a lot of cash back from pay outs, and feel mighty rich,
until you spend it all on parking. Grrrrr...
29) You'll work harder in other areas of your life. (Sell those groove pants!)
30) You'll have more love for yourself and for the lovely people
around you. Especially the LUs.
31) You won't want to stop.
32) You won't HAVE to stop.
Who's on board? I'm ready for another challenge.
Please challenge yourselves and other's around you- there is nothing like achieving your goals in life- dream big- anything is possible.
Check out Erica in her mini webseries Apt. 45. You can check it out here.

Please challenge yourselves and other's around you- there is nothing like achieving your goals in life- dream big- anything is possible.

yikes...
an off day...
i hate to complain, but i must document that today, my head still hurts. go away headache! it's such a mental game i suppose. today i am wondering about my intentions. in what right mind would one sacrifice health to achieve something unrealistic, when the reality is something they actually don't mind at all! hm, think about that one for a minute. anyway, i think i may be acting somewhat like a big whimp right now.. so i will stop complaining and hit the sack! Tomorrow I am training at Gold's Gym in Venice-- what a natural rush that will be!!
one more note to self... why is it that today i have been so freakin hungry all day!? And why couldn't I get thru my routine today even with an audience? hmm. something is off.
tomorrow will be better...

focus.
It's interesting how the brain works. Somewhere inside of us we have this control switch that we can sometimes either turn on, or easily turn off. For me, the switch is normally on. Since my last competition, I have had an extra surge of power, motivation and will. Easy- the determination and discipline was all there. I was completely focused. I absolutely thrive off of challenge and I'm almost always eager to prove to myself and others that if you simply stay focused and keep your eye on the goal, it is yours... if you have earned it. It has been mine- the control, the workout, the diet, the routine, the strength, the power, the passion.
Yesterday, was another story. I lost it- the flip switched and all of a sudden, I shut down. After a few weeks of the same routine (get up, cardio, eat, clients, eat, weight train, eat, teaching 4 classes, eat, closing lulu, gym/dance practice, sleep) I finally felt the pressure. My trainer always tells me to focus... all day long that is in my head, "FOCUS AMBER, FOCUS". After 3 very high profile clients yesterday (all in extreme pain), I completely lost my focus. I went to my favorite bakery and ate my most favorite danish.... oh yes, I chowed down on the most delicious custard bun ever... washed it down with an ice cold Milk Tea... I felt satisfied for about 1 minute then felt the aftermath of being very sleepy and sluggish. I may add I felt so very guilty and so disappointed in myself I started to feel depressed. At that moment, all my insecurities came out and I cried my eyes out. I felt defeated. You have two options at this point. You can loose yourself in your sorrows, or you can use it as fuel to pick yourself up and move forward.
Well, I must say, I am a shaker and a mover- and I choose to move forward. Today, I will be at the gym after work and after my meeting. To add to the pressure, I forgot to mention, the other day, my fitness routine completely changed. The routine I have been practicing no longer exists. I have one month to perfect this version before International Legacy in Colorado. The pressure is on, but I accept the challenge. I fcking love the feeling sheer determination. (excuse my french, those of you who know me know I have a sailor's mouth ;) Point being, I'm back on track and if you ever feel burnt out, take a fcking break! Your soul, body and mind need to recharge at some point!! Just don't loose sight of the big picture, ya? Glad you're with me ;)
So, I leave you with my final thought... dream big, stay focused and LOVE what you do- enjoy the ride my dear friends!!! Don't let anything get in the way of what you want.

highlights
Hawaii
Hawaii was fantastic :) Besides winning the title Ms. Fitness Hawaiian Islands, my favorite highlight was... of course, once again, getting soaked on the catamaran riding the choppy ocean waters. I just love sailing out there especially when the wind picks up and the boat feels like it's going to flip over! Jack Johnson playing in the background, good company (my mama), sea turtles, dolphins... aww, the luxury of being out on the water far away from the island, where all you see is blue ocean salt water. Oh Hawaii, I would visit every year if I could.
Ms. Fitness LA
I decided to go ahead and compete in the LA show... what fun! Just like Hawaii, I met genuine fitness gals and had a great time. This time, I placed 4th. But that is exactly what I needed to step it up. I got some really great constructive critism, if you will, and am looking forward to see how much growth (in all aspects) I can get before Nationals. Here is a glimpse at the physique round... my absolute favorite round... NOT. Can we say.... stalling so I don't have to show you my back side. Still workin on glutes and hams ;)

Maxim
Few more days of voting ya'll. Semi finalist round ends July 7th. I wonder where I stand in that goofy contest. Would be nice to win and have a photoshoot/cover with them. Spread the word!

waitin...
so this is the real me ya'll. i'm back home in the bay sprawled out on my sister's couch, glasses, sweat pants a tank top, hair pulled back... chillin like a villain. notebook by my side, laptop playn some tunes, water with lemon and the window open. its warm and my winter blanket that i store here is finally tucked away in the closet. aww, the bay... it's nice to be back.
just waitin, killin some time, thought I'd play catch up for a hot minute before i snooze off into the land of sleep.. or lack there of. Tomorrow I'm off to Hawaii :) I hope I wake up without this sore throat, stuffy nose and headache... bad timing. I'm sure beautiful Hawaii will cure all. That is the goal.
Finally learned my routine these last few days.. let's hope I hit my tricks, let alone remember it all ...hehe... slightly under prepared, but im most excited to be on stage again. Many thanks to Rae... she brought out the attitude in my routine that I didn't have last year :)
I'll post some pics once I'm back... I'll also try and post some pics from the trapeze show.. which, btw, was awesome! LA Orchestra playing while we fly under hot lights on a cool spring night... OH. Look out for the article in LA Times... I may be featured.
Ok, I have lots to say, but getting tired now. I do want to mention I will be traveling up to Seattle once a month for the next 3 months. Im helping Egoscue out with travel therapy. Soo, if you know any pro athletes or people with back/joint pain, send em my way. I'll be there the week of July 20th. Call Egoscue HQ to set up your appointment.
hmm.. and those of you who like pain... come to my class at Circuit Works... I'll kick your *** into shape whether you like it or not :) hehe.
OK, sleepy. Hawaii, I'm ready for ya.

Free falling
Update.
Wow. An update is much needed. Such a slacker, aye.
Hmm… where I left off… well, lot’s has happened in my world.
Few things …
Turned 28 years old last month… what a youngin I still am ;) I’m still a big kid with a big heart with endless dreams and hopes and desires. One thing I realized on my birthday… if there is ever an opportunity that may feel out of reach, impossible, unrealistic… never hesitate to follow your initial instinct… the unknown could be the best thing that could ever happen to you.
I moved out of my penthouse on Armacost last week. It’s been a rough transition… emotionally and physically draining. I’m crashing at Sona’s… once again. Fortunately, I found a room to rent in the building next to hers. Sonali is pretty much like another sister of mine so it’ll be nice to have her around ☺ I’m really nervous about this whole situation, it’s quite a big change for me and with everything going on, I feel somewhat lost for the first time in my life. Fear is playing me lately and I’m not liking it too much. I guess it is a good thing to be out of your element once in awhile… and it’s somewhat driving me crazy, feelin a bit sad, yet at the same time determined and focused. My life is a rollercoaster right now and I’m not sure if I like this ride at the moment.
On a good note, I have never spent so much time down on the SaMo Pier. They put up a trapeze rig and I have developed an addiction ☺ It is the most freeing, free falling, out of control, adrenaline rush that has saved me from breaking down and crying in the corner… lol, kind of. I like it so much, it is yes, yet another one of my random goals to ‘fly’ in a professional show. I pretty much go every day if I can with another Lu, Erica… my fly girl partner in crime. We were invited to perform with the LA troupe this Sunday June 8th… one step closer to my crazy dream. I’ll be performing a Legs Catch with a return to the bar.. fancy, aye… I love it!! Come by to check it out. I can’t believe I’m doing it…
Other projects coming up:
June 1st... Ecookie NY Lookbook completed and printed. Did you get yours? Visit Ecookie NY in Venice on Abbot Kinney to check it out!
June 2nd… Semi Finalist voting round begins for Maxim Hometown Hotties. Sooooo embarrassing, but cool at the same time ;) hehe. Vote for your favorite!
June 6th/7th… Freestyle Yoga- EWorld Media Launch Party. Shot the very first Yoga episode with Jake Grace in Malibu. All in high def and beautiful landscape… on cliffs and in the water! SICK!
June 7th... Keep Photoshoot.
June 8th… Trapeze School New York Show down at SaMo Pier. 7pm… support the school and my very first flying show!!
June 21st… My first Ms. Fitness Competition this season… Hawaii ☺ I guess I should start learning my routine and preparing a speech.. yikes, I'm so behind! Just booked tickets and going with my mom!!
Far East Movement/Wong Fu Productions- Dance Like Michael Jackson Music video… coming soon.
Getting back on track here. Trying to stay focused, set goals and continue to have high expectations for myself. Life is crazy… I am crazy and I hope in the end, things work out.
One last thought… I still know what I want and nothing will hold me back. Time tells all.

Attract
This morning I had an early morning staff meeting with Lululemon and it was one of the most inspiring meetings I have had in awhile. It was a major wake up call. We've all heard of maybe The Secret... Power of Intention... law of attraction... how the vibration we set out for ourself into the universe ultimately determines how we live our life.... ask and you shall receive.
The one thing I love about Lululemon as a company is the organic grass roots of how they run it. They base the company on helping their employees ACHIEVE their own personal goals. They hire the best the of the best, athletes only. Every single lulu is like minded and this is why we succeed. There are so many other reasons why I love this company, but this is what really hit home with me today.
DREAM freaking BIG.
One of the things that us Lu's have in the store are vision boards. I looked at mine and it really needs an update. It's great to look at it and check things off that I have accomplished. To really put it out there, I'm going to list some of the things that I visualize for myself... yup, I'm putting it right here for ya'll to read. Don't ever doubt what you want, otherwise it's never going to happen. No matter how big, extreme, out there your dreams are, if you want it to become reality, put it out there... think positive, live in the moment- be present with your thoughts... and it'll happen.
This is just a list, but in my head it's a beautiful picture... images that capture the true meaning of what my life has to offer. Here's a glimpse...in no particular order.
Passion:
-I will be an accomplished/established actress in the asian american community. Music videos, short films, feature films, commercials, tv and print
-I will be a successful fitness competitor- I will win the titles for USA and World.
-I will be on the cover of several magazines relating to health and fitness.
-I will make a difference in people's lives- inspire others to choose healthy active lifestyles
-I will be the top trainer at Equinox
-I will win the Maxim contest and be featured in the magazine with sophistication and class
-Livefit Studio will be a success in 5 years- will be sold and will still be a success
Personal:
-I will move into the cutest apartment with lots of character and charm, in the perfect location
-LOVE. will fall in it and stay in it
-marry & have a family someday
-I will become Auntie Amber ;)
-I will travel more than expected, be inspired and create
-my friends and family will be successful in their own journey and will always play an important role in my life
Material:
-get a new car
-own a home
-own a vacation home
Well, there you have it. My own intimate personal goals for you all to see... Please take it for what it's worth... I hope it inspires you to create your own vision :) If you are going to dream, you better dream big.

Sex Objects. Enough Said.
Another Lululemon Event... if you can believe it. In a perfect world..
My mood best translated thru the lyrics of the great Depeche Mode of the 80's...
why... because we all want to be loved :)
Somebody
Depeche Mode
I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
He'll get my support
He will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
He'll hear me out
And wont easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact he'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
he will understand me
Aaaahhhhh....
I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and
With every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I dont want to be tied
To anyones strings
Im carefully trying to steer clear of
Those things
But when Im asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
Ill get away with it
Aaaahhhhh....
why... because we all want to be loved :)

Happy Valentines
Thanks, Lyss... I do like her music :)
sassy and edgy.
"Little Bit"
Lykke Li, Sweden
hands down
i'm too proud for love
but with eyes shut
it's you i'm thinking of
but how we move from A to B?
it can't be up to me
'cause you don't know
eye to eye
thigh to thigh
i let go
i think i'm..
a little bit, a little bit
a little bit in love with you
but only if you're
a little but, a little bit, a little bit
in lo-lo-lo-lo-love with me
oh
ooo-ooo...
and for you i keep my legs apart
and forget about my tainted heart
and i will never ever be the first
to say it
but still I,
yes you know I..I..I..
i would do it,
push a button
pull a trigger,
climb a mountain
jump off a cliff,
'cause you know baby
i love you love you a little bit
i would do it, i would say it
i would mean it, we could do it
it was you and i and if only i..
i think i'm
a little bit, a little bit
a little bit in love with you
but only if you're
a little but, a little bit, little bit
in lo-lo-lo-lo-love with me
come here, stay with me
stroke me by the hair
'cause i would give anything, anything
to have you as my man
a little bit, a little bit
a little bit in love with you
but only if you're
a little but, a little bit, little bit
in lo-lo-lo-lo-love with me
sassy and edgy.

train, train, train
Today I slept and slept and slept. Why...because I've been feeling a little down these last few days and I've finally hit the wall. There has been a lot of Lululemon Events that I have been involved with so that has occupied a lot of my down time, but all that is over and I've been struck with less than pleasant thoughts and scenarios that I can't seem to shake off. With that being said, I'll leave it at that and explain what I will do to get over it...
Last year, I did two fitness shows for the first time. I chose to enter that world because I truly missed performing and training in general. I came into the end the of the season with little training and a half a** routine. This year, I wasn't sure if I was going to compete again... only because I am not quite sure if I like the scene, if you know what I mean. But, it's a go. I'm all in. My trainer wants me to do some of the other shows as well, (she used to do all of them, won them and now is pro) so she is motivating me and it's inspiring ;) Why the f not... I'm a competitor at heart.
So, this is where the fun begins. Been training for a month now at the gym... and now it's time to incorporate all my other interests. To kick the nonsense that is going on in my life to the curb, I'll immerse myself in my practice. Here's a glimpse:
Monday:
Gym- Legs (Nicole)
Power Yoga (Bryan)
Open Gym (LA Gymnastics)
Tuesday:
Core Energy Flow (Exhale)
Anusara Yoga (Lauri)
Wednesday:
Gym-Chest/Back (Nicole)
Thursday:
Gym-Arms (Nicole)
Budokon (Jay)
Dance (Dolphina)
Friday:
Power Yoga (SM)
Saturday:
OFF/Alignment Therapy
Sunday:
Core Enegery Flow (Exhale)
Dance (Lulu)
Power Yoga (Rudy)
BreakDance (EDGE)
Would like to add Parkour in there and maybe if I'm brave enough some Krav Maga.
Hopefully this will help prepare me for this season. I think my first competition will be in May. A few CA local ones, vegas 2x, miami, colorado and possibly hawaii. Aww any excuse to go to hawaii...
So there you go... get out there and move your body... you'll feel so much better, I know I do!

focus!
Lyss was suppose to go to Spain in the summer, but it looks as if it may be too expensive. Soo, I think instead of her going, we're chatting about both taking 2 weeks or so off to travel together. Which is great, but this is where my business ambition/focus gets thrown in the back seat. Something that I seem to struggle with is my general desire to move move move. Nothing too extreme, but I can't seem to stay in one place for too long. There is too much unknown to be known and at this point, it seems all I can do is dream about it... and I feel stuck there. I'm not wanting much either... I don't want to take off and leave for months at a time- it's rather simple really- I'd just like to see how other people live...a taste of something different... another perspective. Maybe LA is getting to me...maybe not. The thing is, with the biz, I have the strongest desire to succeed, but it also constricts me from just getting up and leaving. But no worries LiveFit Studio crew- I've figured out how to balance it all. Aww the perks of being your own boss.
Well, enough rambling. Time for the gym... maybe some budokon, maybe some krav maga...I need to be worked out hard today and then crash tonight... I woke up wayyy to early.
peace out homies.
btw, random i know, but Step Up 2 comes out on Valentines Day and you must go see it. Pretty bad ass dancing it seems ;)

I'm lovin me some chill/indie music lately... gotta love lyrics you can relate to.
Although I do have to say I've been rockin out to some old skool fav's... NIN, Bush, Live, The Killers, The Hives, Weezer, Pearl Jam.... so random and so opposite! But ya know, when you're in the mood, this'll do ya.
But, wait, listen to the new Usher song... it's pretty dope too.
Ok, I'm all over the board with music... just thought I'd share this cool event with y'all. My last concert was ...hmm... Damien Rice last year... danggg... love, love, love his music- sooo amazingly passionate, soooo much feeling, deep and moving. I'll be writing my review (hmm, I may be turning into Spencer, here) after the event, so check back if you're interested.

inspire me...

Stella Im Hultberg is coming to SF in March and LA in August. I can't wait to see her art work in a near by gallery ... yay! My favorites are posted here and I especially would love to see her exhibit called 'Together, Alone'.
"Her work focuses on the organic relationship between people, the world that surrounds them and the world that lives inside of them. In that world she finds their stories, their dreams, their passions and their fears and brings them to life on to tea stained pages that become the stage. She begins with these intangible ideas and by working the canvas with inks and washes she begins to reveal the sensual characters that these ideas belong to. These women are stylized representations of idolized forms that have the ability to appear vulnerable and powerful at the same time".
VULNERABLE & POWERFUL
hmm. That's very much how I feel right now. Maybe a little more powerful considering it is me who has ultimately made some bold changes in my life at this time. I'm sitting alone in my new room, with my new bed, my new curtains, my old habits and hoping to come out stronger than I ever was before.
It's quite interesting what I have come across these last few days. One of my biggest clients- one who is a quadruple crown MILLIONAIRE- says I am the best at what I do and how simple it is going to be for me to succeed. God love her. Thank goodness for that push of positivity and encouragement because sometimes I feel I can so easily fall into self doubt.
The thing is, I write that I can fall into self doubt, but I never let that get the best of me. My vision and reality is quite clear. I've always been the type to see exactly what I want and do whatever necessary to make it happen. I remember early on, with gymnastics especially, through dance, through educational theatre- all I had to do was focus. I had the drive, the determination, the passion, the desire. I don't think I will ever lose that.
What is ironic, while I can be so high on drive, I can be so low at the same time. I was told (according to my astrological sign) that I am the type of person where my happiness is surely effected by how I happy I am in a relationship. I was always the type of person who believed that is crap. That you can be happy by yourself and you don't need anyone else to determine your happiness. But ya know, I think, now I believe it may be true. I know myself and I know I AM the type of person who enjoys sharing my life with someone. I love the feeling of being in love. It certainly inspires me and pushes my creativity and passion for life in general.
That being said, I'm vulnerable. Thank goodness my friends are like-minded individuals. What would it be like if you were not able to see the WORLD through other people's CREATIVITY??? The world would be bland and I would have no drive...
Thank goodness for artists.

dirty old man...
what the hell. for the first time at the Lu, i got really really upset. working with the customers, i normally chat a bit, do a little self promotion for my studio, but this time, i just wanted run far far away from a particular character who represents the *ssholes of mankind. was doing what i normally do and this older gentleman, pig if you will, decides to follow me and as he continues, i ask him politely if he needed anything... which he did... a fit room. i take him over to them, he leans a little too close for comfort and whispers "i know i'm not suppose to say this, but you have a nice behind". ok. so, nice compliment and all, but completely disgusted by this dude. i laugh it off, say thanks.. he asks if i work out, i tell him yes and he replies with "its looks so nice, i can tell". nasty! the worst worst worst part, he stares me up and down...mind you, not a quick stare, but a full on up and down/super slow stare. thank goodness, i thought to myself, someone was coming around the corner to save me from this awkward moment. little did i know until a few minutes later, it was his wife. i ask her name (so i can write it on her door), i spelled it wrong on accident, she grabs the marker from hands... completely scratches out her misspelled name and slams the door in my face. lovely, i thought. i start walking away and they full on had a yelling argument over what just happened. they were making a huge scene. i felt so sick. i walked to the back room and waited till they left. man... one, i felt a bit violated... i know it could've been worse, and two, i felt really bad at the same time. the poor wife. she was sooo mad at me. I began to take it personal and then it made me sad... BUT i'm over the sadness and now im just mad ;) how rude! hmph.

LiveFit Studio photoshoot: 1st attempt
When you have a one on one session with us at LiveFit, you leave with a therapy program with pictures and descriptions of everything we did at your appointment. Since we have been using older photos, I decided it was time to update our collection. We have about 400 therapy exercises and for our first night of shooting, I think we captured a few good ones. We had good intentions to get a lot of pics done, but soon enough Adam ended up teaching us all to breakdance the last hour ;) sooo fun.
Here are a few pics of me playing photographer...

and then a few pics of us trying to breakdance...

goofy...hehe.

Bic Runga- My two favorites right now...
SWAY
Don't stray
Don't ever go away
I should be much too smart for this
You know it gets the better
Of me
Sometimes
When you and I collide
I fall into an ocean of you
Pull me out in time
Don't let me drown
Let me down
I say it's all because of you
And here I
Go
Losing my
Control
I'm practising your name
So I can say it
To your face it doesn't
Seem right
To look you in the eye
And let all the things
You mean to me
Come tumbling out my mouth
Indeed it's time
Tell you why
I say it's
Infinitely true
Say you'll stay
Don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way
Yeah I need to know
All about you
And there's no cure
And no way to be sure
Why everythings turned inside out
Instilling so much doubt
It makes me so tired
I feel so uninspired
My head is battling with my heart
My logic has been torn apart
And now
It all turns sour
Come sweeten
My every afternoon
Say you'll stay
Don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way
Yeah I need to know
All about you
Say you'll Stay
Don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way
Yeah I need to know
All about you
Its all because of you
Its all because of you
Now it all turns sour
Come sweeten
My every afternoon
It's time
Tell you why
I say it's
Infinitely true
Say you'll stay
WHEN I SEE YOU SMILE
When I see you smile
It feels like I'm falling
It's not for anybody else to know
The way your face could light the bitter dark of every street
In every town I'll ever go
It's not for anybody else to know
For anybody else to know
When I see you smile
First thing in the morning
It raises curtains on your lazy eyes
Could it be that you and I have the greatest love to ever be
How could this have ever been before?
It's not for anybody else to know
For anybody else to know
When Friday night arrives
We'll let it pass outside the door
This is not for anybody else
Anybody else to know
Don't stray
Don't ever go away
I should be much too smart for this

crazy in...
oh where do i start-
hmm... today, i am happy :)
It's 2:30pm- an overcast day here in LA...in my apartment listening to some music, chillin out and enjoying today. Woke up early this morning to teach class- which by the way, will have a home very very soon. It seems March/April will be the grand opening of Livefit Studio's very first location!! The studio plans are incredible. Lauri (Kamala Love) has done an amazing job with designing the space. New hardwood floors, rubber floors, purrty stone walls, orchids galore and GREAT people, great classes. Collaborating with everyone has been super fun and I can't wait to open the doors and offer all of the cool classes Livefit Studio will have. Alignment therapy, stott pilates, yoga, 360 yoga, dance, budakon.... it's going to be great. yay!
I can't tell you how excited I am about all that... this year is already a little wild, but I'm enjoying the vision coming to life. If only all of my visions would come true I would be most excited. Hey, if you see it, believe in it and it'll happen... I know it will.. I FEEL it. Boy, do I feel it... crazy I tell you.
So I also feel like this year is going to be like no other... on that note, I'm going to end this blog because, well, quite honestly, I feel really happy this exact moment and I'm going to go dance around my apartment while I still have it to myself.

"GERARDO A. NIMEDEZ Age 100. He was born to Alejandro Nimedez & Saturnina Anchita in the Philippines, April 20, 1907. He entered into rest at his home in Union City, January 15, 2008. He immigrated to America in 1927, first to Alaska, then Seattle, and finally settled in Oakland, preferring the weather further south. Drafted into the U. S. Army, he served with honor during WWII. He was active in the Rizal Chapter, American Legion Post #598, Oakland, and was an avid gardener. For over 30 years, he was a waitperson at the Claremont Hotel, retiring in 1973. Surviving Gerardo are his wife of 60 years, Josefina; sons Arthur Nimedez, Union City; Gerald (Dawna) Nimedez, Orinda and Alex Nimedez, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Siobhan (Ray Pagtakhan) Nimedez, Oakland; Alex Nimedez, Jr., Elk Grove; Amber Nimedez, Los Angeles; Aaron (Vanessa) Nimedez, Elk Grove; Alyssa Nimedez, San Diego; Andrew Nimedez, Phoenix and Garrett Nimedez, San Diego. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Jordan, Janelle & Joel Nimedez, Elk Grove, and one brother, Greg Nimedez, Hayward."
...and he will never ever be forgotten. As my family gathered to say our goodbyes, I couldn't help but watch my grandmother. I went over to comfort her and she kept saying "no more grandpa..." :( My grandparents were married 60 years and it broke my heart to see her feel so alone, even with all the family around. In the end, I couldn't help but to realize how amazing my grandparents love for eachother really was. I only wish I will have the same in my life- to live just as long, to live just as healthy. To live until the end with the one I love, to stay in love and to cherish it as much as they cherished eachother.
bye gramps... your grandkids love you... especially your 3rd eldest ;)

the red boat
wind whistling thru the air
as the red boat sways back and forth in the water
heads turn as if there were two people right around the corner
yet dark shadows casting down is all they see
fingertips alongside the frame of her face
down her back, wrapping around the small of her waist
eyes shut all you hear is the rhythm of breathing
as the crisp cold air dances along their faces.
eyes open and the beauty of this picture lies within the two
standing around the corner escaping the world around them
for just one minute.
the boat is still and it is clear
a yellow building
corroded brick
a stream of water
a reflection appears
and a glimpse of pure innocence and beauty between two people
light up the the cold, dark winter day.
**Inspired by a glimpse of a photo-
May I ask, what else could you want?
